AB INNOVATION SAS ("GODRILLS", "we", "us", "our") operates the GODRILLS mobile application and the website godrills.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our services.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Profile information: name, email address, date of birth, gender, golf handicap, profile photo
- Test results: scores, GODRILLS HCP, sector-by-sector performance data
- Training data: completed drills, training duration, Daily usage, assigned protocols
- Scorecard and location data: round scores, course played, GPS location during rounds, and occasionally to suggest nearby courses and clubs (only while the app is open, never in the background)
- Golf equipment: club models, personal distances, golf bag configuration
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers
- Usage analytics: pages visited, features used, session duration, crash reports. Audience measurement can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- Contacts (optional): if you add a playing partner from your address book, we process their name, and where applicable their phone number or email, for that sole purpose. You can also enter this information manually, without granting access to your address book.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is used for the following purposes:
- Providing app functionality: performance tests, scoring, training recommendations, GPS scorecard
- Performance analysis: calculating your GODRILLS Index, Handicap, and Performance Genetics
- Personalization: generating your Daily routine adapted to your profile and weaknesses
- Community features: leaderboards, friend connections, coach-student relationships, public profiles
- Communications: transactional emails, push notifications (with your consent), marketing emails (with your consent)
- Service improvement: analytics, bug detection, feature usage analysis
- Legal compliance: fraud prevention, anti-cheat validation, legal obligations
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure located in the US-West-1 (North California) region. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We implement Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables to ensure strict data isolation between users. Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only. Your data is hosted in the United States (California). If you reside in the European Economic Area, this transfer outside the European Union is governed by appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission); in addition, some processors process data within the EU.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide the service, we rely on technical processors, described below by category, each strictly for the stated purpose and bound by a GDPR-compliant contract. We never sell your data and do not allow any processor to use it for its own purposes.
A detailed and up-to-date list of our processors, together with the countries where they process data, is available on request at contact@godrills.app.
- Hosting and database: secure storage of your account and your data.
- Video delivery (CDN): drill playback. No personal data is shared.
- Push notifications: sending notifications (device identifier and user identifier).
- Emails: service emails (password reset, account verification) and, with your consent, marketing communications. To tailor these emails, our sending tool receives your email address, first and last name, language, country and usage information (Premium or coach status, number of tests, last activity, index and HCP). Without your consent, no marketing email is ever sent to you.
- Customer support: handling your help requests (email address and the content of your messages).
- Diagnostics and stability: detecting errors and crashes to improve the app (technical device information, user identifier).
- Mapping and golf course data: displaying courses and distances (GPS coordinates, not linked to your identity).
- Audience measurement: app usage statistics (screens viewed, features used), linked to your user ID. Can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- Install attribution: knowing which link, share or campaign led to the app being installed, and opening the right screen directly from a link (technical device and link identifiers).
- Subscription management: tracking of purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store or Google Play (user ID and purchase history; no banking data is ever passed to us).
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right of access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: correct any inaccurate personal data
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to restrict processing: limit how we use your data
- Right to object: object to data processing for marketing purposes
- Right to withdraw consent: withdraw your consent at any time for optional processing
6. Cookies
The GODRILLS website uses session cookies essential to its operation, as well as an attribution cookie ("gd_attrib", kept for 30 days) that remembers the referral link or campaign you came from, so it can be linked to your sign-up. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. The mobile app does not use cookies.
7. Data Retention
Your personal data is kept as long as your account is active. When you request the deletion of your account, it is scheduled 30 days later: during this period, you can cancel it by signing in again. Once that period ends, all your personal data is permanently erased from our databases. It is also automatically erased from our email and notification processors. Anonymised and aggregated data (not linked to your identity) may be kept for statistical purposes.
8. Children
GODRILLS is open from the age of 13. A date of birth is requested at sign-up and an account cannot be created below that age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe this has happened, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and on our website. Your continued use of GODRILLS after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
